Caitlin ffrench is a Canadian artist examining the anthropogenic connections between disappearing landscapes and the idea of solistalgia, or grief for the dying world. Her work finds parallels between her grief for the land and her grief for her body being disabled by Multiple Sclerosis.

Ffrench works with wildcrafted pigments from within the landbases she visits where she gathers discarded stones, bricks, and other waste to grind into useable pigments to make paint.

ffrench paints with wildcrafted pigments as a way to find the connections between place and memory.

Her photography practice is film based- the cameras she uses most often are her Bronica, Pinsta pinhole camera, Pentax K1000, and a Polaroid Landcamera that shoots packfilm which is no longer in production.
